NSRA Precision Rifle  - Rifle Rules (April 2010)

A Precision Rifle is a "field-practical" (person portable) rifle with a telescopic sight.  

Total Weight of the Rifle:

 -          must not exceed 18.15 lbs (8.25 kg)

-           bags (sand, bean, etc.) may be used at the front or back of the rifle for support

-           other mechanical supports must be attached to the rifle and included in the weight of the rifle

Trigger Weight:

-       The trigger pull must be 2.2 lbs. (1kg) or greater.

Ammunition:

-       .223 Rem (5.56) or .308 Win (7.62) calibers

-       no limit on bullet weight

-       must be able to eject a loaded round

-       must be safe to use
