The Nova Scotia Rifle Association (NSRA) has been in existence since the early 1860's and has served the needs of sports shooters in Nova Scotia by fostering the safe and responsible use of firearms and the development of marksmanship skills.
ABOUT
Today the Nova Scotia Rifle Association is a medium sized, non-profit, sporting organization dedicated to promoting safe firearms use and developing marksmanship. It accomplishes these goals by running programs and activities on its own range or on facilities owned by others.

The membership of the NSRA is drawn from across the province, from all walks of life and from all age groups. The common denominator amongst our members is their interest in shooting.

NSRA supports the training and qualifications of local law enforcement and security agencies by making its Bull Meadow facility available to them. These agencies including the RCMP, DFO, CBSA, and US Border Protection, use the ranges for small arms training and qualification purposes.

The Association is administered by an elected Board of Directors, including representation from each of NSRA’s 5 major programs, namely: Target Rifle/F-Class Fullbore, Handgun, Open Rifle, Smallbore Rifle, Service Conditions. The Board also includes the following support positions: Quarter Master, Range Manager, Range Booking Manager and Webmaster. These individuals are responsible for running the day-to-day affairs of the Association. NSRA has no salaried staff members. All work done by the Executive, Board of Directors and other Association members is on a voluntary basis.

The Association has one Annual General meeting, held in the late Fall. At this meeting members are elected to the Board of Directors, and the business of the Association is otherwise conducted.
